Episode 17- "The Huntress Returns"

All new Arrow this week finally and it came back with a bang! I feel like the hiatus took a lifetime. So many different story lines to follow all in one hour. Laurel (Katie Cassidy) finds out her sister may be alive. Tommy (Colin Donnell) deals with finding out that Oliver (Stephen Amell) is the hood. Thea (Willa Holland) tries to help out her friend from 'The Glades.' Oliver's crazy ex-girlfriend Helena the Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) comes back and Oliver has some relationship issues to climb.
The show starts out with Oliver and Digg (David Ramsey) trying to find where Helena is because she has killed another member of her fathers team- the lawyer. While Digg is working out how to find her, Oliver heads home to find her sitting on his couch talking to Thea. She tells Oliver that she needs his help in finding her fathers safe house, that it will be her only chance of getting to him before he is put into witness protection and off the grid forever. He tells her no but she warns him that he has family that she can get to now.

Oliver and Tommy have that weird conversations about how Oliver is the hood and Tommy can't believe he could keep a secret like this. Not only that but Oliver is a murder and Tommy can no longer trust him.

We get our flashback to the island at this point. Oliver and Slade (Manu Bennett) talk about how they are going to get to a missile launcher that they feel is going to kill millions of people.

Laurel and her father talk about the conversation they had with her mother about Laurels sister still being a live. He isn't happy about it but Laurel tries convince him to take a look at everything her mother has collected. Eventually he tells her yes and to let her mother know he isn't making any promises.

The club opening goes off pretty well with the exception of Helena getting to Tommy. She uses Tommy as her leverage to get Oliver to help her track down her father. He finally agrees to help her if she lets Tommy go.

Oliver and Digg talk about how they are going to work the situation with Helena, this is where we get the best tag line of the night. Oliver asks what he should do and Digg lets him know that he thinks Oliver would have killed her by now if she looked like him instead of the T-mobile girl. When all three of them are talking, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) shows up, Oliver tells her to leave (for her own safety so Helena can't use her too; I am guessing). Oliver finds out that they are moving Helena's father for hearing, only thing is they are using two vans- one with him and one as decoy.

We then get our next flashback to the island. Oliver uses Slade as an intruder to draw the attention of the other men and then Slade kills them all. As they are setting up to explode the launcher, Oliver decides to take the circuit board to the launcher. Slade loves this idea and calls it leverage. Oliver will then try to use this leverage as a way to get off the island.

Oliver helps Helena track her father, each splitting and taking a van. Oliver's van is empty. He leaves to find Helena since he thinks her father is in that van. Helena's van is filled with cops and she is arrested before Oliver gets back to her. As Helena is being interrogated by Lance and Hall, Oliver causing a gas and smoke seen in the police station to break her out. He gives her a plane ticket to Rome and a passport to get her out of his city.

Oliver then heads to McKennas apartment and they have a conversation. They also sleep together for the first time. As that is happening, Felicity tries to call Oliver and let him know she doesn't think Helena left town yet because a store just reported a break in and a missing crossbow. As she turns around to end the phone call she see Helena standing there.
Oliver rushes to her and cuts he loose from the ties Helena put her in. Helena had Felicity hack into the FBI data base to get the location of the safe house of her father. Of course that is where Helena heads and Oliver tries to play catch up. Oliver and Helena have a face off and as he is about to kill her, McKenna shows up and doesn't wait for backup so she is all alone. As Oliver lowers his bow on McKenna's command, Helena grabs her gun and shot McKenna and runs away. Oliver leave McKenna unconscious and later meets her at the hospital. McKenna almost dies due to a shattered femur that will take a year to heal. She lefts Oliver know she will be moving to live with her sister- this causing them to break up. Oliver doesn't like the idea but tells her "its what ever you need" and leaves it at that.

Tommy and Oliver have another conversation about how Oliver is the hood. From this conversation we see that although the tension that boys will make it through and remain friends.

Other story lines from the episode; we start to see some friction between Tommy and Laurel because he isn't telling her what is going on. A small love connection starting between Thea and Roy (Colton Haynes) and Detective Lance deciding that he will help Laurel's mother Dinah look into the information about her sister Sara.

Episode 18- "Salvation"
Quick review of last weeks episode before I review this weeks since I was out of town last week.

Another vigilante that goes by the name of "The Savior" kidnaps one of Oliver's targets. This vigilante take "slums" from the glades and make them state their case and then decides if they are guilty or proved themselves innocent. Most of the time he declares them guilty. Oliver's target and one other man is killed. Then Thea's new love interest Roy is taken. With Diggle and Felicity's help Oliver tracks down where this vigilante is holding Roy and saves him just before he is going to be killed.
The flashback reveal that Fyers was never going to get them a boat off the island. They end up freeing Yao Fei's daughter but at the cost of Fyers getting the circuit board for his weapon.

Other character stories- Laurel proves to her parents that the girl in the photograph is not Sarah and she has that girl come in to meet her parents. He father realize that Sarah is really gone but her mother is still going to search for her- she later admits that she let Sarah go on the boat will Oliver. Moira turns on Frank Chen and turns over information of the money transfer on Malcolm's life. Malcolm in his vigilante suit kills Chen and thanks Moira for her help. Oliver reaches out to Laurel to get coffee sometimes- "because he doesn't want to be on an island anymore". He also tell Felicity if she ever needs to tell someone about her day, she can come to him.

Episode 19- "Unfinished Business"

Vertigo is back on the streets and a girl dies from it after she leaves the club. Which starts two different stories. Oliver heads for "the count" (the maker of vertigo) and detective Lance heads for Oliver and Tommy at the club. Turns out that it was never the count- he has been locked up in a mental facility. Even though it is released that the count escaped the facility, it was all a cover for the doctor and guard. They together have been making a new version of the drug and spreading it around the city. Oliver finally figures this out when he heads back to the facility to talk to the count only to get hit in the back of the head by the guard. The doctor makes Oliver take a dose of the drug. Diggle comes to save Oliver and help as backup. Diggle kills the guard and Oliver kills the doctor, Oliver decides not to kill the count. Detective Lance rubs some elbows trying to figure out this case. He pushes Tommy really hard, thinking he is responsible for the drug getting around. He eventually gets a search warrant for the club. Tommy knew he would be coming back with the warrant so he moved everything in Oliver basement area and replaced it with boxes of stuff for the bar. This causing some tension between Oliver, Tommy, Laurel and detective Lance.
Character stories- Oliver and Tommy can't seem to overcome their rift since Tommy found out that Oliver is the hood. After this drug suspicion between them Tommy decides to quit working at the club. He ends up going to his father Malcolm for a job. Oliver and Diggle have a small feud during this episode but resolve it easily and they agree to go after Deadshot so Diggle and can peace of mind that the man who killed his brother is now dead. Laurel also resolves things with her dad and says nothing was ruined between them.

Flashback- Yao Fei's daughter Shado teaches Oliver to start learning how to shoot a bow.

No new episode until April 24th. Another long wait.... the CW is so frustrating at times.

Episode 20- "Home Invasion"

Arrow returned this week with an all new episode. Episode 20, "Home Invasion" is about
Digg looking for Dead Shot and about Olive keeping Laurel and a little boy safe.

Laurel is getting ready to represent a case involving a husband and wife and their son who had all their life savings stripped by a business man named Edward Rasmus. Rasmus sends a hitman to kill the family but the son gets away. The next morning Laurel decides that she will take the boy until his grandparents get into town. That means that the hitman will now be coming after Laurel to get to the boy because the boy saw his face. The hitman shows up at Laurels and tries to kill everyone there. Laurel gets a shot gun but it jams. Just as the hitman is about to shoot Laurel, Olive (Arrow) busts in through the window to say her. Tommy decides that it would be a good/safe idea to go to Olivers to stay- reluctantly Laurel's father agrees.
Meanwhile Digg finds out about a sting to bring Dead Shot in. Him and Olive come up with a plan to make sure he isn't brought in but that he is killed... by them. Only problem, when Olive is suppose to met Digg for the sting he finds out that Rasmus is trying to leave the country. He decides to go after him. By doing so, he leave Digg by himself. Dead Shot figures out that it is sting and sets up camp to kill all agents that are undercover. Digg saves his old work/flame buddy before she is shot and then goes after Dead Shot. Him and Dead Shot have a physical fight but Dead Shot gets him when he points two guns at him. Warns him that he will kill him just like he did his brother and knocks him out with the gun barrel. When Oliver gets back to the club he finds Digg with Felicity fixing his wound. Digg will never forgive Oliver and says "we're done".
The hitman tracks down Laurel and the boy at Oliver's house. He starts shooting anybody around him. Oliver puts Tommy and Laurel in the room with the boy and shuts the door and breaks the lock. Oliver fights with the hitman and in the end kills him. He tell detective Lance that one of the body guards killed the hitman before he died while saving Oliver's life. Tommy tells Oliver he can't be with Laurel knowing that Oliver is still in love with her- And if she knew that truth about Oliver she would chose him.
At the end of the episode after the grandparents have picked up the boy, Tommy tells Laurel that he isn't up for this kind of serious relationship.  Laurel questions him and doesn't believe his answers. Of course he is lying but it is the only thing he can tell her to get her to leave him alone.

Other things that happen in this episode are Thea and Roy decide to find out who the hood is. In the flashbacks we see a relationship forming between Olive and Shado on the island. The last flashback we get shown Yao Fei entering the plane, Shado is thrilled to see him, but he informs him that he didn't escape and that he didn't come alone. With Felicity posing as a card sharp, the pair infiltrate the casino; after being beaten and threatened by Oliver as the hood, Alonzo reveals that Walter was killed.
Oliver informs his family, Moira immediately confronts Malcolm, who reveals that Walter is alive. Oliver, who was listening in, discovers that Tommy's father is heading the secret organization, and uses Felicity to hack into his phone records to ascertain Walter's location.
As the vigilante, Oliver frees Walter and reunites him with the family. But there is an uneasy feeling with Walter towards Moira because he feels she is responsible for his kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Laurel goes to Tommy to get the truth about why he left, and Tommy reveals that he believes she is meant to be with Oliver, who still loves her. Episode 22- "Darkness On The Edge of Town"

So last weeks episode was more about the back story of Oliver's dad and what the undertaking was. This week we returned to the story of Oliver on the island and present day issues. With the except of Walter's rescue this episode picked up right were the episode two weeks ago left off.

We see why Yao Fei lead the army right to Oliver, Slade and Shado's location. By showing Fryes were they were staying he thought it would give them a fighting chance to survive. Fryes was willing to blow up the enter island just to eliminate them. Fryers starts to hurt each one of them until Yao Fei is willing to take the blame for Fryer and his army. Fryers' employee wants every plane flying into China to be shot down using the missile launcher on the island... only thing they need someone to take the blame... Yao Fei. After each one of them is hurt once, Yao Fei agree to be that guy. Yao Fei give a knife to Oliver when Fryes isn't looking. After Yao Fei records his public message, Fryes thanks him and then shots him in the head- killing him instantly. That's all we get this week in flashbacks to the island.
Back in the present, Oliver searches for answers from his mother about what she is working with Malcolm on. He has Digg kidnap him and his mother and pose at the hood. Digg beats up Oliver until Moira talks. She finally admits to being involved with Malcolm and explains what the undertaking is (leveling the Glades to the ground). She tells "the hood" that it is to late to stop it. The team (Oliver, Digg and Felicity) figure out how they are going to get the location of the device to stop it. The three of them get into Malcolm's building and pose as different characters- Oliver as himself, Digg as a security guard and Felicity as a burger food deliverer. They manage to get the location and Felicity plants a bug on Malcolm's computer at the same time. Oliver as the hood makes a visit to Malcolm at his office and Digg goes to find the device.... which he soon finds out is gone. Malcolm and the hood fight and adventually Malcolm gets the upper hand and knock Oliver out. The first thing Malcolm does is remove Oliver's hood to find out who it is. Malcolm freezes and say "Oh no". This is how the episode ends.
Other story lines this episode, Thea and Roy continue to look for who the hood is. After Oliver finds this out he tells them to stay away from the hood. Thea listens but Roy doesn't. Thea makes him choose and he picks looking for the hood. Walter files for divorce from Moira and it crushes Thea. Oliver pays a visit to Tommy while they are looking for the location of the device. He tells Tommy that Laurel picked him and that he is choosing not to pick her by leaving her. Later in the episode after Laurel and Oliver had previous had a heart to heart and Oliver telling her he hasn't changed and they can't be together, Laurel goes to her father to talk to him about Oliver. He says he will never admit it to anyone but says that Oliver has changed since he has been back. Oliver seems to have a moment when he realize he wants to be with Laurel because he goes to her apartment and tells her he hopes it isn't to late and she tells him its not and they end up sleeping together. Tommy also sees them throw the window on his way over there.
What will happen next week? Will Oliver get away from Malcolm? Will the device be activated and take out the Glades? Will Laurel and Oliver finally be together and does this mean the sexual vibes between Felicity and Oliver is over now? Tune in next Wednesday for the season finale.
