Episode 2 of The Voice- Season 4

Episode two of blind auditions aired tonight. This was just a one hour episode so it went pretty quick.

First up was Tawnya Reynolds- country to the core. She gets a three chair turn (Blake not included). Blake does have a conversation with Usher about each of them taking someone  from one another genres and mentoring them. We also get to see the Shakira has her own 'English to Country Dictionary'. Tawnya goes Team Shakira.

Josiah Hawley is next. He seems to have a pop mixed with a little alternative rock sounds. He sings 'Sunday Morning' by Maroon 5. He gets a three chair turn around (Shakira sitting out). Not a huge fan of this guys personality thought- gives off that "I'm a hot guy and everyone loves me" thing, maybe he's looking to be the adult version of Bieber- although they are close in age. He ends up going with Team Usher.

Midas Whale is up next. A male folk duo from Idaho. Goofy guys but pretty entertaining. They get a four chair turn around. They end of going with... didn't see this coming Team Adam.

Cathia is next-     she is just   nineteen years old. She sings her song in latin. She gets a three chair turn around (Adam sits out). She is loud and now apart of Team Shakira.

Sarah Simmons is the last performance of the night. What a voice- big indie rock sound. She was my favorite performance of the night. She built on her start and finished big! She seems similar to Juliet Simms. Four chair turn around. She is now Team Adam.

At the end of the night Team Blake comes up empty handed. Team Usher get one artist making his total 3. Team Shakira gets two artist making her total 4. Team Adam gets two artist making his total 3 and Team Blake is remains at 3. Let me know your thoughts on how the teams are stacking up.

Check back next week for new episode reviews. Although they may come late since I will be away from my computer.

The Voice is Baaack!!!

I am so thrilled that The Voice is back. I also am looking forward to seeing how Shakira and Usher are going to change the show. So lets begin with the blind auditions.

What a start! A four chair turn around. At first these girls made me nervous and I didn't expect R&B out of them but they killed Alisha Keys. The Morgan Sisters decide to go with Team Blake and I have to say I was surprised. I thought it was going to be Usher.

Jess Kellner is soulful singer. She sings as if she is stripped down to the core to sing. Very pure. I like her a lot but she seems very quiet so I don't know if she will come out of her shell enough. She decides to go with Team Usher.

Mark Andrew seems to be a rocker of choice. He has a rasp to his a voice that makes him different from your average rocker and alternative rock sounds. A sound similar to Gavin Degraw. He goes with Team Shakira.

Danielle Bradbery. Country, country, country! Just a mini Taylor Swift. She won the crowd over and got 3 of the 4 judges and Shakira said she should have. If she opens up I think she could be a front runner. We also get Usher famous line here "Nashville is a state you are bigger than that." He won't live that one down. She goes with Team Blake.

Vedo is an inspiring R&B artist. He hope that Usher turns around for him. He performs Justin Bieber's hit song "Boyfriend". Usher in fact turns his chair. Team Usher for Vedo.

Christian Porter is a pretty cool dude. He sings "Sexy and I know It" by LMAFO but completely different. It was so unique. He sang the whole rap part almost folk style... I don't even know what style it was. Three of the four turn their chair (Adam didn't) and he ends up picking Team Blake.

Kris Thomas is a R&B artist. This is the "shocker" of the night that gets all the coaches. Shakira is the only one who picks him but all the guys want him afterwards. He sings Whitney Houston and knocks it out of the park. He sounds like a girl... but he's not and that is what shocks everyone. He is Team Shakira.

Judith Hill is an R&B artist who comes from music. She spent some time perparing for Michael Jackson's "this is it" tour before he passed. She sang "heal the world" at his memorial services. She sings a Christina Aguilera song called "what a girl wants" but a totally different way, not the pop way. She gets a four chair turn around. Adam makes a huge play for her. I think the Adam and Shakira have the best play but Adam pretty much makes sure she knows he will die if she doesn't pick him. She goes Team Adam.

The end of the night count puts Team Adam at one artist. Team Blake had three. Team Usher has two and Shakira also has two artist. New show tonight.

Some Big Shockers on Revenge This Week..

Revenge was all new this week and picked up right where it left off last Sunday. We get a few flashback throughout the show from Emily's past at the foster home with Eli and her foster mother Ms. Heyward. Most of the episode is about this story line.
Eli convinces Victoria to sponsor the Heyward House in honor of the Amanda Clarke Foundation, since it has fallen on hard times and needs funding or Ms. Heyward will lose the house and children. Eli has another plan in mind though and asks Emily to trust him. We see Eli play both side though; when Emily and him go to meet Ms. Heyward, we all get to see a side conversation with Eli and Heyward about how they are going to split the money given 60/40. This get your mind wondering what side Eli is really on.

Later at the live announcement of the funding ceremony, Eli lets everyone know the truth about Ms. Heyward and all that she has done to the children who have been in her foster home, including what she did to him and Emily. At this point to get back at him, Ms. Heyward announces to everyone that Eli was the one who started the fire that sent Emily to juvy as a child. This comes as a shock to Emily and she is hurt and angry. She thinks her whole life could have been different if not for that fire. As early in the episode Eli informed her that Ms. Heyward had been holding letter from Emily's father and Eli wanted to get those back for her. Emily thinks everything could have been different if she knew her father was reaching out to her.

Later in the episode we see Eli back at Ms. Heywards house. She states that all the children have been taken and she is alone now. Eli lets her know that he is there for "Amanda" and wants the letters from her. He puts her in the dungeon that she put all the other children in for so long until she tells him what he wants to know. Turns out she sold the letters to Mason. Emily goes to see Mason is prison to talk about the where the letters are (they all burned last year when she lite his house on fire), but he does drop one big piece of information that was in them. One of the letters has David confirming that Victoria had an older son she gave up, who ended up in the foster care system!

Other story-lines from the episode have Jack tracking down Kenny Ryan and asking about the night Amanda died. Kenny denies any part of it and Jack finally believes him. Kenny also lets him know that his brother taped all his conversations with Conrad and that he has them for proof. Jack wants the tape and later is the episode listens to them with Declan.

Daniel is still watching every shadow around him and seems to slowing be falling into a deep grave with his guilt. He confides in Emily (just as she planned) about everything. He promises not to let anything happen to her and to keep her safe. Meanwhile, Victoria has other plans to scare him away from Emily. She has him followed to the place he and Emily had lunch and gets a photo taken. At the end of the episode Daniel has a package delivered to him that is urgent. When he opens it he find the picture and two bullets. He thinks its the initiative but it was really Victoria. As the camera frames change it shows Victoria closing her jewelry box that had a case of bullets in it with two missing.
Last thing that happened this episode is between Aiden, Nolan and Padma.  Padma is to suppose to turn over the CarrieAnn project to the initiative to free her father by noon time. Aiden and Nolan find a way to help her. Nolan puts a tracking device on the flash drive so they will always know where the program is. When the drop comes early they boys have to rush to make sure they are set and ready when the initiative gets there. Once Padma's father is seen, Aiden is going to kill everyone else and get Padma and her father out of the country. All goes NOT as planned. Padma is taken and Nolan and Aiden are  left to try to figure out what happened. Later they track the signal device and find it in a random abandon place with no one around. Nolan then gets a text that says he is sorry about his friends head and they see a box ahead of them. Aiden checks it out and finds the turtle head of the flash drive in the box (when the tracker was at). He later finds out that the falcon is also working with the initiative.

Next week should bring lots of explosive details since it will be a mascaraed ball. Let me know your thoughts on the episode.

Vampire Diaries Takes New York

All new episode of Vampire Diaries this week titled 'Because The Night.' I am clueless on what this episode title mean, so if you know fill me in. I am assuming it is because most of the episode takes place at night but that seems to easy of an answer.
Anyways most of this episode is about two different things- the New York group and the Mystic Falls group. The New York, Elena, Damon and Rebecca are searching for the cure- but not together. Damon is trying to do it alone without the two girls knowing but he is clueless to the fact that they know what he is doing and the girls decide to work together. The Mystic Falls group, Stefan, Caroline, Klaus, Bonnie and Silas(Shane) are trying to figure out this 'triangle' getting completed. Stefan, Caroline and Klaus don't want it completed. Silas is pushing Bonnie to complete it but she has to sacrifice twelve witches to make that happen.

We get a few flashbacks with Damon and Lexi (Airelle Kebbel) in New York City in the 70's. She tries to help him turn his humanity back on (on the request of Stefan). This is a six month process and it turns on Damon fakes it in the end to make her believe he has feelings for her. Turns out he never "flicked the switch" and turned it back on.

Elena is acting wild and crazy, she even gets a new haircut and some red added into the brown color she is already wearing. She has Damon tell her about the Lexi stories from the 70's. She tries to lure him up to the roof and seduce him to get the information he dug  up on Katherine's where a bouts (it's in his back pocket of his jeans). He doesn't fall for it and Rebecca comes out of no where and snaps his neck. Thus getting the information and the girls take off together... in Damon's car.

Back in Mystic Falls, the good team (Stefan, Caroline and Klaus) work to get more information about what Silas' plan is. They realize that the next 12 person sacrifice could be in two spots. They split up to get to both. Meanwhile Silas has convinced Bonnie to contact her mother to get enough witches to come to "help" her deal with expression. Bonnie lets her mother know the meeting place to send the witch to help her. Just so happens this witch bring her whole clan with her... 11 other witches. Stefan ends up finding the site of the sacrifice and tries to reach the witches to let them know what is happening. They believe him about Silas but decide that if Silas has reached Bonnie then she needs to be killed and they push Stefan out with there powers (they are all connected as one at this point). Klaus and Caroline finally catch up to Stefan; Klaus and Stefan seem to be okay with letting Bonnie die instead of the sacrifice happening but Caroline is not. Just as the witch is about to drive a knife into Bonnie's chest, Caroline runs in and uses the knife to stab the witch... this of course killing 12 witches. Silas now has his triangle complete.

When Stefan gets Bonnie home and she wakes, we learn that the last thing Bonnie remembers is being on the island in the tomb watching Jeremy try to get the cure out of Silas grip. She now learns the Jeremy is died. I am sure Stefan catches her up on everything else going on with Elena also.

Lastly, Silas meets with Klaus letting him know that he would like Klaus help with the triangle. Klaus doesn't want to bring down the other side-allowing every supernatural being that has been killed to come back. Silas stabs Klaus with the white oak stake to remember him that he will in fact help.

What will happen next week? Rebecca and Elena working together... I'm sure this can't be good... especially adding Katherine to the mix. What will happen now that the triangle is complete and will Bonnie realize what has been happening to her? Also, how will Damon get home or will he go home or after Elena and Rebecca??

Let me know your thoughts on the episode.

Calling All Sports Fans!

It's that time of year again everyone! MADNESS is here. Did you fill out your bracket? Or should I say brackets because we all do more than one! I have a different winner in most of mine. I of course love my hometown team (Michigan State) but I was not naive enough to pick them all the way. I know March is our time of year but I still don't think this is a team like 2000, maybe if Payne stays for his senior year I will feel more comfortable next year saying that. I didn't have many huge upsets this year, which I surprised myself with that. I mean any given day any team can lose; that has been the trend all season long. No #1 team has stayed #1 for long.

So here we go. My second round upset went to Oregon over Oklahoma State, I feel like Oregon got a horrible seed. I mean come on they win the PAC 12 over UCLA and UCLA loses a main big guy in the paint and they get a 6 seed??? Did I miss something? I personal like Oregon is going to play with something to prove because I am sure they are more upset with their 12 seed than I am. I also have Bucknell over Butler- which this could go either way; Minnesota over UCLA and Cincinnati over Creighton. I was pretty close to picking South Dakota State over Michigan because I just don't know what Michigan team is going to show up. All season long they have been up and down and South Dakota State have one 3 point shoot en fool on that team. Didn't he put up like 50 some points this season?? But if the Michigan team that was ranked #1 at one point this season shows up then heck they could win the whole thing.

My third round upset goes to Pittsburgh over Gonzaga. I know I may be crazy for picking this or even picking Pitt out of the second round, but I am just not on the Gonzaga bandwagon. If they prove me wrong then I guess I'll be eating crow but until then I'm just not on that wagon.

As for my #1 seeds. I have Louisville, Kansas and Indiana making it to the final four. I'm not sold on Kansas but I think they will make it. As for my other final four team- I have Ohio State... I'm sorry  'The Ohio State University'. Being from the state of Michigan, I'm not a huge fan of OSU, but with Craft's lock down defense and the teams ability to hit threes, I just can't deny that they are good.

My final two goes to Louisville and Indiana with my winner being Indiana. I know, I know, putting my hopes in to Indiana's hands is crazy but hey this could really be their year. With a year that so many can win, I am going with my gut and it says Indiana.
But that is not the only team my gut says... I also picked Louisville to win over Miami in my other bracket. I have to leave me options open and backed up.

Lets see how well we all match up against the president's bracket... I hope I kick his butt.... p.s. I picked Indiana before his bracket was available to the world.

Let me know your thoughts on your brackets. I love talking sports!

CW's Arrow is FINALLY Back

All new Arrow this week finally and it came back with a bang! I feel like the hiatus took a lifetime. So many different story lines to follow all in one hour. Laurel (Katie Cassidy) finds out her sister may be alive. Tommy (Colin Donnell) deals with finding out that Oliver (Stephen Amell) is the hood. Thea (Willa Holland) tries to help out her friend from 'The Glades.' Oliver's crazy ex-girlfriend Helena the Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) comes back and Oliver has some relationship issues to climb.
The show starts out with Oliver and Digg (David Ramsey) trying to find where Helena is because she has killed another member of her fathers team- the lawyer. While Digg is working out how to find her, Oliver heads home to find her sitting on his couch talking to Thea. She tells Oliver that she needs his help in finding her fathers safe house, that it will be her only chance of getting to him before he is put into witness protection and off the grid forever. He tells her no but she warns him that he has family that she can get to now.

Oliver and Tommy have that weird conversations about how Oliver is the hood and Tommy can't believe he could keep a secret like this. Not only that but Oliver is a murder and Tommy can no longer trust him.

We get our flashback to the island at this point. Oliver and Slade (Manu Bennett) talk about how they are going to get to a missile launcher that they feel is going to kill millions of people.

Laurel and her father talk about the conversation they had with her mother about Laurels sister still being a live. He isn't happy about it but Laurel tries convince him to take a look at everything her mother has collected. Eventually he tells her yes and to let her mother know he isn't making any promises.

The club opening goes off pretty well with the exception of Helena getting to Tommy. She uses Tommy as her leverage to get Oliver to help her track down her father. He finally agrees to help her if she lets Tommy go.

Oliver and Digg talk about how they are going to work the situation with Helena, this is where we get the best tag line of the night. Oliver asks what he should do and Digg lets him know that he thinks Oliver would have killed her by now if she looked like him instead of the T-mobile girl. When all three of them are talking, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) shows up, Oliver tells her to leave (for her own safety so Helena can't use her too; I am guessing). Oliver finds out that they are moving Helena's father for hearing, only thing is they are using two vans- one with him and one as decoy.

We then get our next flashback to the island. Oliver uses Slade as an intruder to draw the attention of the other men and then Slade kills them all. As they are setting up to explode the launcher, Oliver decides to take the circuit board to the launcher. Slade loves this idea and calls it leverage. Oliver will then try to use this leverage as a way to get off the island.

Oliver helps Helena track her father, each splitting and taking a van. Oliver's van is empty. He leaves to find Helena since he thinks her father is in that van. Helena's van is filled with cops and she is arrested before Oliver gets back to her. As Helena is being interrogated by Lance and Hall, Oliver causing a gas and smoke seen in the police station to break her out. He gives her a plane ticket to Rome and a passport to get her out of his city.

Oliver then heads to McKennas apartment and they have a conversation. They also sleep together for the first time. As that is happening, Felicity tries to call Oliver and let him know she doesn't think Helena left town yet because a store just reported a break in and a missing crossbow. As she turns around to end the phone call she see Helena standing there.
Oliver rushes to her and cuts he loose from the ties Helena put her in. Helena had Felicity hack into the FBI data base to get the location of the safe house of her father. Of course that is where Helena heads and Oliver tries to play catch up. Oliver and Helena have a face off and as he is about to kill her, McKenna shows up and doesn't wait for backup so she is all alone. As Oliver lowers his bow on McKenna's command, Helena grabs her gun and shot McKenna and runs away. Oliver leave McKenna unconscious and later meets her at the hospital. McKenna almost dies due to a shattered femur that will take a year to heal. She lefts Oliver know she will be moving to live with her sister- this causing them to break up. Oliver doesn't like the idea but tells her "its what ever you need" and leaves it at that.

Tommy and Oliver have another conversation about how Oliver is the hood. From this conversation we see that although the tension that boys will make it through and remain friends.

Other story lines from the episode; we start to see some friction between Tommy and Laurel because he isn't telling her what is going on. A small love connection starting between Thea and Roy (Colton Haynes) and Detective Lance deciding that he will help Laurel's mother Dinah look into the information about her sister Sara.

All New Golden Boy

Tuesday nights mean we get to see our new TV hunk Theo James! Golden Boy was all new this week, giving us the fifth episode in the series. Not all men look good in a suit... but this one sure does.
This episode titled 'Vicious Cycle' focuses on the death of an airport supervisor who happens to be the brother of detective Owen's former criminal informant. This of course brings up a lot of things from the past between Owen and detective Arroyo about that certain criminal informant- Rochelle.

The shows starts with detective Clark adjusting to his hangover from all the drinking the  night before. His sister Agnes (Stella Maeve) fills him in on the things he said and did that night- including what he said to detective McKenzie about how she was to good for Arroyo. Clark realize this is not a good thing, as he was not suppose to say anything to McKenzie about how he knew that Arroyo and her were together. This was an agreement he made with Arroyo and Arroyo wouldn't do anything with the audio tape he had of Clark giving Natasha money from evidence.

After that the show gets into the crime solving aspect, we see Owen take over the case from Arroyo and he tells everyone to back off basically. We learn that April- Rochelle's sister, isn't a fan of Owen, that she doesn't trust him anymore. At this point we start to learn little pieces of the puzzle between Arroyo and Owen. Owen informs us that he made mistake too.

Owen spends most of this episode really annoying his coworkers and the viewers. He pushes others and wants to be the lead on everything no matter who he upsets.

We also meet Nora- Clark and Agnes' mother. She is just coming out of rehab and wants to be in her children's life again. Clark isn't sure about this but after some advise from his partner he decides to give his mother a chance.

Later in the episode when the team gets a break in the case, they had for a hotel trying to catch the suspect- who happens to be April's boyfriend, Dominic. This is where we learn more from Arroyo about Owen. Arroyo sits on this break for an hour because he wanted to give Owen first dibs. That hour could have helped them get the suspect and hour earlier, instead he is in the wind. Arroyo informs us all, including McKenzie and Clark that Owen was sleeping with Rochelle. Owen spends some time explaining the situation to Clark. Clark lets him know that "we all make mistakes and the his respect for him (Owen) is concrete." Owen also comes clean with Rochelle's sister April about his relationship with Rochelle.

With Clark's help, Owen gets April to tell him where  Dominic-her boyfriend, the suspect is. They set up a meeting and end up checking him. After the interrogation, Dominic realize he has been caught because the evidence is to high against him.

Towards the end of the episode, Arroyo tries to get alone time with McKenzie to apologize for the previous night and she turns him down and lets him know "not tonight." Clark tells Agnes the truth about their mother and she isn't very happy about it. Clark lets her know if she wants a meeting their mother he will set it up. Agnes wants the meeting. They meet and embrace in a hug- Nora tells Clark "thank you."

The episode ends with a flash forward to Commissioner Clark in a meeting with an advocacy group, Urban Healing Council- that April is now the speaker of.

I'm loving how the pieces of Arroyo and Owen's past partnership is coming out. It is really filling in the gaps of this heated rivalry between them. Also is something going to happen between McKenzie and Clark? Is that part of the downward spiral that Arroyo seems to have or that is alluded to in the first episode flash forward.

Revenge, The Walking Dead and some Client List

For those of you have numerous shows on one night and can't find a way to watch them all before 2 am.. well you have me. Sunday is one of those nights for me, I'll review Revenge, The Walking Dead and The Client List. The sad part is that's not all of the Sunday shows I wish I could watch.
Revenge starts off right where is left off last week with Emily (Emily VanCamp) talking to Aiden (Barry Sloane) about how at the cemetery she ran into her foster brother Eli (he doesn't recognize her). We then get a couple flashbacks just so reference the relationship between the siblings- which seems to be very close, she quotes him as her "protector."

Some story-lines are formed in the beginning- Jack (Nick Wechsler) still trying to figure out what happened the night Amanda (Margarita Levieva) was killed and he was shot, the Graysons starting a new charity in honor of Amanda called 'The Amanda Clarke Foundation' to help children, Daniel (Josh Bowman) trying to deal with the guilt he is feeling and also Emily trying to figure out what her brother is doing in town.

Emily finally has a conversation with her foster brother Eli, once he figures out that she is in fact Amanda- he sees the tattoo on her wrist and remembers her always drawing the sign on everything. He talks about how he tried to find her after she got out of juvy but she was off the grid. She talks to her like she really cares about him and is happy to see him but he needs to leave. She says she will help him start over with money but he just needs to do it somewhere else.

Jack get some information about the night Amanda died from deckhand/boat owner at the docks. The man tells him about a guy who wanted to rent the boat and later that night decided he wanted to buy it. The boat owner then describes what the man looked like who wanted to buy the boat. Without the boat owner knowing he describes Nolan (Gabriel Mann) to a T. The boat owner then tells Jack that's all he knows and Jack informs him that that is okay he has done more than enough. At the foundation party Jack confronts Nolan about being there the night Amanda died. Nolan denies it and does some work with the boat owner information, making it look like one of the Ryan brothers (Kenny) owned it. All ends well with this story-line, Jack and Nolan are okay.

The majority of the episode surrounds the foundation party being thrown by the Graysons. Nolan and Emily arrive together. They talk to Eli together and help wipe his criminal record clean and give him money to get a fresh start- $100,000.00 of a fresh start. Although Eli isn't ready to leave yet. Emily tries to drop negative hints to Ashley who then relays them to Victoria about how Eli isn't a good guy- hoping they will ask him to leave. Aiden continues to try to get in with Daniel without much luck, he even starts to bother Daniel. Aiden decides to try a different way by trying to push Daniel back to Emily. Either way one of them will get Daniel back on their side. The push works because after Daniel turns to his father Conrad for information, Conrad informs him that the charity is a front and a way to hind the Graysons money. Daniel turns to Emily to share this information and a lot more..Initiative. Toward the end of the evening, Eli gives the check Emily gave him back to Victoria as a donation to the charity in honor of Amanda.

We learn the Eli will be staying around for a little while, since Victoria has appointed him co-chair of the charity.

Nolan and Emily get information from Aiden about how to get into the charity account and try to bankrupt the Graysons but hit a firewall they didn't expect. Another flashback, with Nolan and David Clarke comes back. Another story-line starts, The Falcon- a computer hacker who helped frame David Clarke is back on the Graysons payroll. He has put in a firewall code to protect the Graysons account. The episode ends with Emily saying "lets go hunting". I am assuming that 'The Falcon' will take up more of the rest of the season trying to figure out who this person it. I am also excited to see how fall Jack will push the revenge line himself. And will Emily and Daniel reconnect?? And what is Eli's plan??

The Walking Dead starts off with a flashback of Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) during the winter. Nothing to important here. Present time we are back in Woodbury where they are preparing for war against Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the prison group. Milton (Dallas Roberts) finds the Governor (David Morrissery) in his own little prison of hell (seems to be preparing an area for Michonne if he gets her. This little dungeon comes back into play at the end of the episode.

Milton tells Andrea to leave and get everyone out of the prison, that the Governor will move on in time. Andrea insist that she needs to kill him. In the end she doesn't and just decides to leave like Milton says.

There isn't a lot that goes on in this episode that is really important. Andrea gets out of Woodbury and the Governor finds out and tries to go out and find her. She ends up running into an empty warehouse to get away from him. He tracks her there and tries to get her to come back to Woodbury. She decided differently and lets a bunch of walkers after him and she takes off. At the end of the episode she finally finds the prison and is almost there when the Governor jumps her and holds her down so Rick can't see her. He then takes her back to Woodbury without anyone knowing and puts her in the dungeon. Who knows what will happen to our crazy and opinionated Andrea...

Other things that happen in this episode is all the guns are collected in Woodbury to use during this upcoming war with Ricks group. The stash of walkers the the Governor is hinding are burned by someone (either by Milton or someone in Tyreese's group I am assuming). The Governor then tells Martinez that they will need more walkers and to get some more. Tyreese and his sister start to become more uneasy about Woodbury.

The Client List isn't an extremely intense episode but it is still full of little moments that are a big deal.

Riley (Jennifer Love Hewitt) tries to hire new girls for the spa and she seems to find the perfect girl in Nikki.

Evan (Colin Egglesfield) takes Riley out for some private time together. A put put golf play date with a picnic.

Riley and Georgia (Loretta Devine) talk about how to get Kyle's chargers away from the spa, because it is drawing to much attention.

Riley talks to Kyle (Brian Hallisay) more about the copper wire chargers and to give the judge more information to get him out of jail, that he needs to be out so his kids can see him but he doesn't cave.

The police get a search warrant for her house. They are looking for cash that Kyle would have sent home to Riley and the kids. She worries about 'the client list' being found. Everything goes fine and nothing is found. Later that day a mystery man shows up at Riley's doorstep with a lot of cash. Riley ends up giving it back to the owner of the business Kyle stole it from. It doesn't help Kyle out though.

The police turn up at the spa wanting to look around but Riley tells them to leave and not come back without a search warrant.

End the end of the episode Riley takes 'the client list' reads the whole thing and then buries it out at her mothers owned land. The next morning Evan comes over and they get a little alone time before someone interrupts them and it happens to be Manny (the nice cop) that informs Riley that something has happened to her mother and that there was an accident.

What happened to Riley's mom?? Will Kyle ever get out of jail and will we have find out what was up with him and the snake skinned boots cop when he first got home (the one who arrested him)?? Plus we get to see a new worker at The Rub and it's a guy...

Bring It On- Vampire Diaries Style

The Vampire Diaries was finally back with an all new episode this week.. and if you are anything like me you were counting the days until you got to see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) again.
This weeks episode was all about Elena (Nina Dobrev) and when I say all about Elena I mean all about everyone else learning how to deal with Elena turning her feelings off. If you recall at the end of the previous episode, Elena finally realize that Jeremy is dead and his magic ring isn't going to bring him back.  She start to break down feeling all the pain and loss from everyone in her family being dead/killed. At that point the only thing that would make her feel better was Damon using the sire bond. In which, he tells her to "turn it off." Afterwards, Elena burns down her family home with everything in it, including Jeremy's body.

At the beginning of this episode we see Damon and Stefan trying to figure out a way to help Elena get back to normal- while Elena seems everything but normal, in fact she looks numb and states that she "doesn't feel anything."

Everyone decides that it would be best if Elena just went back to high school. While there she decides on her  own that she should would like to get her spot on the cheer-leading team back. Caroline (Candice Accola) has no problem doing this since she is the team captain. Although unknown to everyone on "team: get Elena back to normal" Elena has other reasons than cheering for wanting back on the team. During that week there is cheer competition that will bring in fresh human bodies from outside of Mystic Falls that she can 'feed' on.

Once Stefan gets her back home (after she let Caroline fall flap on her back during the competition and Stefan drugs Elena with vervain), Elena wakes with a some what vengeance. Stefan wants to keep her inside so she can't cause trouble but she has other plans. If Stefan won't let her go out then she will just bring the fun to her... by having a party at the Salvatore house. Once she finds a way to distract Stefan and Caroline (by hurting Sheriff Forbes) she escapes the house. This leads to a man hunt for Elena, ending with Caroline finding her first and a girl vampire fight ensuing, with Elena almost killing her best friend when Damon and Stefan finally show up and save the day.

Damon gets her back home and keeps her away from everyone. Caroline and Stefan talk about how the sire bond might not being working anymore- which to a degree its not because she isn't feeling anymore so why would she do what Damon wants her to do. Elena meanwhile is talking to Damon about how much he should be enjoying the way she is acting instead of trying to control her and make her act a certain way.

The episode ends with Stefan realize that Silas may in fact be in Mystic Falls which could really be a bring problem. He contacts Damon (by phone) with this information asking him where is he. Damon lets him know he is out for a drive, which he is in fact but he doesn't plan on coming home any time soon. He is with Elena on the way to New York.

Next week should be a good episode... We are promised a new look dramatic look from Elena, a Damon and Lexi run in (flashback) and more hunting for the cure... which could mean more Katherine.

"Your beard is so stupid it took it 2 hours to watch 60 minutes.."

Our favorite reality show Duck Dynasty had two new episodes last night that kept us all pretty entertained. Most people were 'Happy Happy Happy.'
The show starts out with all the guys trying to figure out who has the longest beard, which then turns into about the funniest part of the show... The beard jokes. Martin lets us all know that a beard joke is the equivalent of a "your momma" joke.
As best described from Uncle Si's mouth:

  • Your beard is so fat not even Dora will explore it.
  • Your beard is so ugly that when you try to take a bath the water jump right out of it.
  • Your beard is so stupid it took two hours to watch 60 minutes.
  • Your beard is so hairy you look like chewbacca.
  • Your beard is so dumb it sits on the TV and watches the couch.
How did we ever survive without these guys numerous one liners...
We then see how Phil can use the grandchildren to do some house chores when they stop by. He really does deserve Grandfather of the Year! He has found a way to get the kids to do stuff without even asking them to do it.

When then see the boys leave work early... Again, so go finish covering a blind so they can hunt the following day. At this point we get a few more of Si's quotes of the year...
"A superhero can't reveal his secrets" "I'm like Victoria, shes got secrets and so do I"

Side track... Have you seen the Harlem Shake video with these guys??
Where have all of these people been?? There are 20 people I have never seen before. Do they just hind when filming is taking place- Get the two weeks off during filming? Are we to believe that Duck Commander is a five man team? Regardless I'm still watching.

Lastly, we get to see Godwin try to act like a panther. Jase tries to prove a point to Si about how things farther away just look darker than they are close up. Si doesn't believe it is possible, which is where we all get the pleasure of another Vietnam story about how he was called Crazy Eyes, because he could see 'crazy good.'

The second episode of the night is about deer hunting for the ladies! Jep lets us all know right away that his wife Jessica killed a deer... and not with her car! We also learn that Jep is not very good a sharing.

Anyways the episode mostly surrounds the story of Jase and Willie trying to get Missy and Korie to go hunting with them. Korie tells the boys that "they let them hunt and they don't complain about it." Which of course doesn't sit well with the boys. Missy then add, "if ya'll were married to anyone else on the planet you would hear nagging and everything else." Here is a lesson for you Missy, most of American wives are in the same position as you... so you and Korie are not the only ones who let there husbands hunt. In fact, most of them already hunt on their own.
Lets just say... No one should pick Korie and Missy as a hunting partner any time soon. If there were any deer in that woods... they're all gone now. Korie and Missy were about as loud as an amusement park!
Funniest part of this episode... Korie thinks Willie is holding on to some kind of spray that she thinks she needs to spray on herself. Come to find out she sprays doe urine on herself! Oh my! Jase then lets her know to stay high if she sees a deer coming towards her and Willie adds that it will try to molest her.
Bottom line- Jase and Willie can't even finish the hunt with the girls. They take off to track a deer (or at least we are suppose to believe there is deer). They leave the girls and  they don't feel the love and wonder back to the truck. There is no deer to rub in Jep face at the end of the day.
BUT here is the best part! When they get back to the house, Jep informs them that Jessica did not shoot the deer, he did! One of the best pranks/stories/lies that has ever been shown on this show.

I find it hard to believe that these couples have been married for almost 20 years and they have never been hunting together?? I have been with my fiance for 5 years and he wanted me to go hunting with him less than a year into our relationship. I feel like with these guys it would have been a right of passage just to even see if the girl was worth marrying.

More southern review next week.. if Kay makes it out of her hording sheds in time for next weeks show.

The 'Golden Boy' and a 'Divergent'

For those of you who don't know, I absolutely love TV and books. I may or may not want to live a fantasy land. So I thought I would write about my love, annoyance and frustration with the shows I watch- and of course my own reality.

First off, have you seen 'Golden Boy' on CBS.
(Detectives Clark, Arroyo and Owen)

A new show that is only four episodes in and man am I addicted already! For starters, Theo James plays Detective Walter William Clark Jr- you could just look at him all day and not get bored! Then there is Kevin Alejandro as Detective Tony Arroyo (who is known for his role as Jesus in True Blood). In True Blood he portrays a relatively nice guy but in Golden Boy is walks the line of a dirty cop with small signs of a good guy still inside. The complete role reversal shows the ability of being an actor. Plus who doesn't love a bad boy. The other main detective is Don Owen, portrayed by Chi McBride, (Human Target and Boston Public) who is partners with Clark. There is some bad blood between Owen and Arroyo that keeps the viewers guessing and Arroyo stirs the pot with Clark right from the start. Rounding out the team of detectives is Deb McKenzie and Joe Diaco, portrayed by Bonnie Somerville (NYPD Blue) and Holt McCallany (CSI: Miami). McKenzie is partners with Arroyo and also in an intimate relationship that is kept secret until Clark sees them kissing outside a bar. Clark is the only one that seems to know about this. McKenzie brings the rough and tough girl aspect to the show and Diaco seems to bring some of the humor.

The really cool thing about this show though is how it is set in the present but also has a flash forward element to it. Most shows today seem to have a flash black element so this is a different spin. At the beginning of each show (so far) it starts out in the flash forward part- 7 years to be exact. Detective Clark is now the Commissioner and the youngest one at that, ever. The show is about how he got there- the present time of the show.

With all the chest pumping going on between the three main detectives and some of what the flash forwards tell you, it leaves this giant climax coming and you just don't know how it going to go. It almost feels like you are watching a movie and not a tv show. I can't wait to see where this show is going and hope that others are fans of it because I don't want to see it get axed any time soon.

Now on to my book review-
The last series I read was 'Divergent' by Veronica Roth, released in 2011.

This is three book series with book three set to release in October of 2013. Divergent is the title of the first book and 'Insurgent' is the second title. The third book is still untitled.
The series is narrated by Beatrice 'Tris' Prior, described as a 16 year old short, youthful looking and moderately attractive girl, with wide, blue eyes and blonde hair that falls to the small of her back.
The plot:

From the brink of apocalypse, humanity has reorganized itself into five factions, each of which uphold and live by a single core value. Those who believe society fell apart because of greed formed the faction of Abnegation (the Selfless), sworn off of practices considered self-indulgent and pledged to act selflessly. Those who believe the collapse was due to ignorance pledged themselves to the Erudite (the Intelligent), sworn to a never-ending path of complete knowledge acquisition. Those who feel that human duplicity wreaked havoc in the world took the banner of Candor (the Honest), pledging to always speak their minds and the truth. Those who feel that aggression was the root of society’s collapse became the members of Amity (the Peaceful), taking the mantle of peace at all costs. And finally, those who feel that the root of all their problems stemmed from cowardice formed the tribe of the Dauntless (the Brave), the faction of the courageous and strong.

Beatrice is born into Abnegation and also has a brother named Caleb. The book starts out with the two siblings having to pick of the five fractions they want to be a part of for the rest of their lives. Within the first few chapters decisions are made and the core of the book starts. They basically go through a "rush" phase and it weeds out other 16 year old trying to become part of the fraction since there is only 10 opening spots. These phases include learning to fight, brain simulations and of course a final test (which happens to be another simulation).

Without giving to much away, the title of the book becomes a very important part of what the book is about. A love story emerges between Beatrice and Tobias 'Four' Eaton, that will drive you crazy between the two books so far. Sad losses that have a similar feeling that Hunger Games leaves you with. As started, similar to Hunger Games with a different twist, but all in all this book is five stars!

The good news is if you are a fan of this series then you will be happy to hear that the film rights have been bought and a film is in the early stages of production. According to reports, Summit Entertainment has bought the rights, Neil Burger (Limitless) will direct and Shailene Woodley (Secret Life of an American Teenager) will star as Beatrice. Numerous guys have been linked to the role of Four including Alexander Ludwig (Hunger Games) and Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf). Colton Haynes would win my vote any day.. but that could be because we share a birthday or maybe he is just good to look at also... who's to say.

Back with more love, annoyance and frustration in my next reviews.
